The idea behind Softables
Softables grew out of a wish to make small gestures feel more personal. A gift can hold a surprising amount of meaning: a favorite animal remembered, a shared joke understood, or a little reminder that someone has been thinking about you.
We wanted to create a place for those moments. Somewhere you could find a character that brings a particular person to mind, including yourself. Something chosen because it connects with a personality, an interest, or a feeling you want to share.
That wish became the idea behind Softables: bringing together plush toys with enough character to make choosing one part of the pleasure. The connection begins with noticing a small detail and thinking, “This feels right.”
Why we chose plush
There is something inviting about giving a familiar thing a soft, playful form. An animal can become an expressive little companion. A favorite food can become a funny reminder of someone’s tastes. An everyday interest can take on a personality of its own.
We are drawn to that combination of familiarity and surprise. It leaves room for humor, affection, and a little imagination, while keeping the gesture simple.
