A little care goes a long way
Caring for Your Softables
From cozy shelf days to everyday adventures, your Softables deserve a little tender care. Here are a few gentle ways to keep your favorite plush looking its best.
Care at a glance
Read the label
Start with the care instructions for your individual plush.
Keep it gentle
Use a light touch around fabric, seams, and little details.
Dry completely
Give your plush time to dry all the way through before use or storage.
Start with the care label
Read the label attached to your plush and any care instructions supplied with it. Fabrics, fillings, and attached details can need different treatment, even when two toys look alike.
Your product’s care instructions take priority over this general guide. If the label is missing, unclear, or different from the product information, contact us before washing.
A gentle refresh
Choose the method allowed by your plush’s care instructions.
Small spots & spills
When surface cleaning is allowed:
- Lightly dampen a clean, soft cloth with cool water and a small amount of mild detergent.
- Test a small, hidden area first. Stop if color transfers or the fabric changes.
- Gently blot the spot. Avoid scrubbing, soaking the fabric, or pulling on details.
- Remove detergent residue with a fresh cloth lightly dampened with clean water.
- Let your plush air-dry completely, following its drying instructions.
Hand & machine washing
Only use these methods when the care label specifically allows them.
Hand washing
Follow the stated water temperature and cleaning directions. Rinse thoroughly, then gently press out excess water without twisting or wringing.
Machine washing
Follow the label’s temperature and cycle instructions. Do not force an oversized plush into the washer.
Avoid bleach, strong stain removers, and fabric softener unless the product instructions explicitly allow them.
Give it time to dry
Follow your plush’s drying instructions. When air drying is allowed, gently reshape it and place it on a clean, dry towel in a well-ventilated spot. Replace the towel if it becomes damp.
Keep it away from direct heat. Only use a dryer if the care label specifically allows it, and follow the stated settings.
Give the filling time to dry, too. The fabric may feel dry before the filling does. Allow your plush to dry completely before returning it to everyday use or putting it away.
Everyday care, extra love
- A gentle tidy-up. With clean hands, lightly smooth the fabric and reshape your plush without pulling on its limbs or details.
- A comfortable place to rest. Store it somewhere clean and dry, away from prolonged direct sunlight.
- A little check now and then. Look over seams and attached details. If anything becomes loose or damaged, set the item aside and contact us before further use.
